A new year means new inspiration. Halloween Garland.

Happy October! YAY! I'm so excited for trick or treating & dressing the kids up in their costumes. Such a fun time of year. So excited!

And it is also that time of year to change up the decor. Have you started decorating your home for Autumn or Halloween yet? In all honesty, I'm still waiting for my Fall box to be brought down from the attic, so I can start decorating my house. So, I am just not getting started.

Today, I want to share with you a simple Halloween garland. This was pretty easy, everything cut out for me and all I had to do was add the letters to the ribbon and that was it (the banner is a Martha Stewart product that I've had for a few years & figured it was time to use it). But, I wanted to give the banner a little color to spruce it up a bit. So, I used some embellishments I've been hanging onto for a while.

Then cut out the spider & web design using my Silhouette die-cut machine. Took me no time to complete this project. Pretty simple!

July is Paparazzi Month.

With each new month here on the Cartwheels site comes a new theme, and even though I didn't do so well at getting this concept out there to all of you in June, I promise we are going to do better about that in the future.

We have compiled a list of what I think are absolutely fabulous themes that will be used to inspire us (but not box us in) over the next few months and I really hope that you will all join in and help us take each one to the next level. And for July, we have decided to go with a paparazzi theme...with reality television and rehab bound young celebrities such a big thing in our culture right now, the paparazzi profession is bigger than ever...and let's be honest, scrapbook mothers being handed digital cameras can be just as bad if not worse when it comes to the obsessive photo taking. So let's figure out new creative ways to let this inspire our handmade art this month...and you can even use me as an excuse to force your kids to take a few extra photos at the zoo. :)

Last summer, my friend & photographer, Ali McLauglin, did our family photo shoot & this is one of the photos she took of the hubs & I. It was crowded downtown and lots of people watching. It was an awkward moment at the time, but fun, too. Yummy ice cream at the Fudge Factory hit the spot!!! -Cindy

One Month And A Big THANK YOU.

It has been exactly one month since the virtual doors to our little venture officially opened, and what an amazing amazing month it has been! Through all the creative all-nighters, the frustrated tears, mixed-up schedules and my own doubts and insecurities, the one thing that has been consistent has been the support of our readers. I can't tell you how elated and shocked I have been to watch our hit numbers grow everyday and realize that maybe, just maybe, all the hard work is paying off and we are doing something right.  I know there have been some kinks in the system, but i assure you that we are working on every one that we are aware of and we are always open to suggestions from our readers as to how we can make this a better, more inspiring place for you. Over time I hope that you see that we will be consistently bringing you inspiration from all types of different handmade artists and sharing daily inspiration that has you coming back multiple times a day to see the site updated with an abundance of visual goodness. 

But for today, I'd just like to thank all of you for believing in me, in US...for coming back for more, for leaving comments and sharing your art with us. We couldn't have done any of this without you, and I hope that you'll stick around to watch as we evolve and hopefully get better and better for you. Our doors are always open, and hopefully you can see through our artwork that our hearts are too.
