Hello Hello my friends! It's Cheryl here, and you may have noticed some differences in the site over the past couple weeks...some of which I orchestrated, and some of which I did not but couldn't fix with only my iPhone. The past few weeks have been the ultimate nightmare for someone who owns an internet business...our internet went down. And stayed down. And then we couldn't find a company that could even get us internet. In the middle of a DC suburb. So as you can imagine it's been quite an experience...but I *think* it's going to end up a good thing, because I had lots of time to brainstorm better ways to run the site and starting immediately we are going to start putting those ideas into action. And I thought that being the most important part of this business, you the readers should hear about it first!
So here are some of the changes:
1. We will be sharing less posts a day in an attempt to keep the quality up instead of the quantity. You know the old saying, and it also gives our artists more time to work on each project they post rather than having to feel overwhelmed by the number of projects they need to complete. More than anything I want Cartwheels to be a fun, inspiring experience for everyone involved.
2. Beginning within the next few days we will start having guest artists on a regular basis sharing tutorials on fabulous art projects. Each guest will be sharing a tutorial as well as some art they are either selling or really proud of and links to where you can find them online. And I have to say, from the tutorials that I've already received from some of the artists, I think you guys will be every bit as excited about this as I am. (And if you are interested in joining in, please send me an e-mail at our new submissions/promotions address: [email protected] with a photo/project idea as well as a link to your blog. Sharing a tutorial here is a great way to promote your site for free, even if you are just hoping to gain more blog readers!)
3. I'm excited to share that we will be sharing a brand new Cartwheels In My Mind shop within the next few months! Once it's up, you will be able to purchase some of the art you see here on the site as well as some brand new handmade embellishments to use on scrapbook pages, home decor projects and anything else you can think of.
4. We will be debuting a new section of the site directed specifically towards our readers that are trying to promote their non-profit art blogs. Each little graphic will only cost $5 and needs to be sized at 130x70. (If you want us to design the ad it will be a one time $15 cost per ad.) If you are interested, please send me your payment through paypal ([email protected]) and then e-mail your ad or ad request in a separate email. If you are interested in being a part of this, any time you have an ad up through the rest of the month of November you will not be charged. So for our first 2 months you get a month and a half for the price of 1. :) *We reserve the right to make the decision on whether your site qualifies for these ads.
So big changes, right? I'm hoping they are all good ones, but I'd REALLY love to hear your feedback about them! In fact, I've still got a big box of give-away goodies left so if you leave your feedback in the comments I will choose a lucky commenter to win this little pile of handmade supplies!
oh it sounds like you've come up with some fabulous changes for your site. :) im excited to see the growth and am looking forward to the tutorials. what fun!!

The changes are wonderful. I most love the part about DIY tutorials! I love when artists show you how they got to the final piece! Also love the idea of only one photo a day. Although I love the photos, I agree that they will be more special if only one is up a day! Change is always a great thing!

It all sounds good to me! I love learning new things, so the tutorials will be great! I'll admit I loved your 3 posts a day, but I agree that quality is better than quantity. I always love the unique things your designers come up with.
