Is the air crisp where you are or is it just when you walk past the air conditioning? Either way it's almost officially fall even if it might not feel like it yet, so it's time to think about trees full of color changing leaves.
Since here in California we don't get much of a fall, I'm always bound and determined to make one. I took out my little leaf punch and a pile of fall colors and got to work.
Then I took those leaves over to the sewing machine to be strung together. It was a little tricky working with shapes this small, but if I can do it anyone can.
Then it was time to hang it. I have a couple of branches I've saved from walks around our neighborhood and this particular one is stuck into a little galvanized bucket filled with stones (the kind you find in a mesh bag at a local craft store). I love to use a branch like this to display all kinds of tags or decorations.
I simply strung the leaf garland from the branch and I officially have a little piece of fall sitting on my mantle.
It will help tide me over until the leaves around here start to change about the first week of December. Hope this inspired you to craft up a little something fall-ish no matter what the weather is like.
too cute..happy almost fall...
