YIPPEE!! It's Friday! And I have just the idea for a little weekend challenge. Here we go. Visit your local dollar store, Target's fab Dollar Spot or even a thrift shop. Peruse and pilfer through the goodies and see what you can use for something other than it was created for. Yep. Get creative with an inexpensive project. Think outside the box. Try something new or just find a new way to use something old.
Here's a project I made last fall. At the time I was living in my childhood house rooming with my best friend and we needed some inexpensive home decor. I was wandering through Target's Dollar Spot one day and they had a section that was 75% off. WOW! Seventy-five percent off a one dollar item?! SCORE!! You can't beat a quarter!!! I found a bundle of these neat little 12x12 Wall Art items. So yep, I scooped up several not really knowing what I was going to use them for but I knew I'd come up with something for the house.
So here's what I came up with. I painted the edges with basic acrylic paint in black.
I selected nine sheets of patterned paper that would coordinate and grabbed a foam paint brush and some Modge Podge.
And here's what I came up with...
So for as little as $2.25 plus a few sheets of paper from my stash, we ended up with some pretty eye-catching wall art, if ya ask me. :)
There ya have it. Grab your change purse and start searching for an inexpensive something you can give a little life for this weekend's challenge.
Have a great one!!
Great idea and what a great price too. I'm looking for something for our living room wall. This would look very cool. Thanks, Becca :)
