I'm in love with chalkboard paint. Seriously. There are SO many things you can use it on and so many reasons to use it. I won't fill this post with all my reasons because really you'd be here reading forever. So instead, I'll just show you ONE reason I love it.
Reason #1.
You can find cool things at the thrift store and make them even COOLER with a little chalkboard paint.
Example #1.
Found at thrift store: silver platter.
Found in my utility room: masking tape and chalkboard spray paint.
I taped off the edges of the platter and then added some newspaper around the edge as well.
Then I ventured outside to spray away. I just put a nice even coat on the inside of the platter...really, in a matter of seconds. I left it outside in our 100+ degree weather and it was dry in just a few minutes. I peeled off the tape and Ta-Da!
I love this little platter setting on an easel. I have it here on the porch but you could put it anywhere...in the kitchen with that evening's menu, leave a note for your hubby or just let the kids draw you a fun picture each day.
This project honestly took less than 30 minutes including drying time.
That's what I'm talking about.
oh my goodness.. this is fabulous!! I was just at the thrift store yesterday.. this makes me want to go back again and see if there are any trays!!!! awesome!

you know, I've had some issues with chalkboard paint but I bought the kind that you have to apply with a brush - it tends to run a little. never occurred to me to buy it in a spray can. DUH!!
