Hello! Hello!
Welcome! Welcome!
This is the first in a series of creative challenges and the
Cartwheels team invites you to join in! These challenges will go up
weekly every Friday and will focus on anything and everything creative,
hopefully getting your artistic juices going and inspiring you to no
end. We’ll post the challenges with a few creative prompts to get your
ideas going! And we invite you to share your creations in our Flickr
pool.
*To make your creations easier to find, please add
“CC#01” to your title!
And with this first challenge, we want to say, “Hello. It’s nice to meet
you.”
In the last few weeks, we’ve been featuring the
different members of the Cartwheels in My Mind creative team,
introducing you to each artist with cute write-ups that give insight to
our personalities and sharing photos and designs to give insight to our
style. Now we’d like to get to know each of you a little better. On
this site, we’re all about developing lasting friendships and we’d
dearly enjoy getting to know our readers with this “Hello! Hello!”
creative challenge!
--------------------------------
Creative
Challenge 01: Introduce yourself/say hello. Via layout, photo,
poem, etc....anyway you want!
Idea
Prompts:
1. What's the story behind your name?
2. Share a photo of your family home's welcome mat.
3. Do you have a personal greeting? What's the story behind it?
4. Create your own personal logo (not-business related) using scraps
around you.
5. Create a haiku describing yourself.
-------------------------------
So join in the fun now! And to get you started, here are two
layouts shared by Nora & Christy on how they interpreted this
challenge!
“My Name”
Nora Griffin
“I loved Maria Grace's idea
about making a layout explaining your name. I shared random little
stories surrounding my first, middle and last name with some super messy
typing mixed with alphabet stickers.”
“I Heart My Name”
Christy Berkhouse
“I loved Mary Grace's weekly challenge idea to
create an art piece using our name...so fun!
Journaling: I've always loved my
first name. I especially love the meaning: "follower of Christ". I've
always felt that it fits me perfectly. I mean, what else could I
possibly be named that would fit me just right? If my grandma Faye had
it her way, I would have been named "Bird" or "Fern". Can you imagine?
Eeew! I am so happy and thankful to have such a meaningful and lovely
name. Thanks, mom and dad!
i am still gonna do a layout for this challenge. such an awesome Challenge MG!!! i love Nora's & Christy creations, too...so inspiring!
